Club History and Origin Story

The Birth of Rullen Club – A Journey from Fun Rides to Downhill Thrills

RullenClub’s story began with a simple idea: a group of friends, a few longboards, and a shared love for skating. What started as casual rides along Luxembourg’s scenic bicycle paths quickly blossomed into something more. In the early days, the crew was focused on enjoying the thrill of gliding through the streets, embracing the freedom of longboarding while soaking in the beauty of the outdoors.

However, as they ventured onto more challenging paths, something changed. The exhilaration of racing downhill, carving through the turns, and feeling the wind in their hair ignited a passion they hadn’t expected. The sensation of speed, the adrenaline rush, and the bond with both the board and the hill became an obsession that fueled their passion.

By the fall of 2015, it was clear that the group had outgrown their casual rides and needed a way to formalize their shared passion. After a few months of planning and discussions, the idea of creating a real community took shape. On November 11, 2015, Rullen Club was officially born. The name “Rullen,” meaning “to roll” in Luxembourgish, perfectly captured the essence of their journey — a club dedicated to rolling and riding together as a group, united by their love of downhill thrills and the spirit of camaraderie.
